Job Title: BU Supplier Manager

Position Overview

  • This is a high profile position with significant influence and interaction with Ingredient, Packaging and Sales and Marketing Equipment Suppliers as well as Global Subject Matter Experts and Corporate GP&T Platform Leaders, to ensure business is not constrained from a material supply continuity perspective.
  • This position also interacts with the highest levels in the various bottling operations. This position is responsible for the overall supplier management program within the Business Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supplier Performance Management:

  • Ensure all Company and Local Regulations, KORE Policies, Requirements and Standards are clearly addressed in the quality programs of the suppliers. Report and implement relevant corrective actions for any deviations. This includes FSSC 22000.
  • Ensure suppliers are compliant to Supplier Guiding Principles (SGP) / internationally recognized ethical sourcing principles.
  • Monitor the supplier’s performance against The Companies routine sample requirements.
  • Follow up and verify close out of all non-conformances against which corrective action was requested.
  • Develop and execute supplier quality improvement initiatives.
  • Actively request information regarding supplier service levels and quality incidents within the bottler and assist with the close out of the corrective action.
  • Manage changes to the approval status of existing suppliers.

Supplier Auditing:

  • Annually, prepare and publish a supplier audit schedule as per the BU procedure.
  • Manage the external audit companies used for supplier audits and provide training.
  • Ensure the supplier audits are performed as per the supplier audit schedule, update as necessary.
  • Review all audit reports and ensure corrective action plans are being implemented in a timely manner.
  • Track progress and coach the responsible supplier people to achieve compliance.
  • Manage the annual budget for supplier audits.

New Supplier Approval:

  • On request and within the business requirements of the B, manage the authorization of new ingredient packaging and sales and marketing equipment suppliers as per the relevant KORE requirements.
  • On request from the bottler and s per the relevant technical bulletin authorize suppliers of processing aids and auxiliary material.
  • Provide recommendation to the BU Technical Director and BU QSE manager concerning the approval status of the new supplier.
  • Publish authorization letters to the suppliers confirming the approval status.

Suppler Capability Building:

  • Build capability within the BU concerning supplier partnership, by working with the relevant Bottler Procurement and Quality Assurance Managers, BU QSE Managers and supplier technical management.

Record Keeping:

  • Recommend all policies, governance related technical bulletins and certification criteria on supplier management to the BU QSEy Manager and BU Technical Director.
  • Maintain all relevant records on achiever plus and PICASSO

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in the Quality Area with an experience in the development and implementation of supplier management programs with Coca-Cola or other Blue chip Companies in food, chemicals or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Bachelor of Science (degree or equivalent) in Food Science & Technology, Mechanical / Chemical / Materials & Metallurgical Engineering.
  • English and/or French Fluency.

  • Serves as a consultant and subject matter expert to the Finance organization and Marketing & Customer Function by constructing portfolio view of market opportunities regarding Marketing & Customer Investments and Productivity.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Provides a complete view of the value creation across the system through focus on Marketing & Customer investments and productivity:

  • Assesses customer investments, deals, identifies value creation opportunities for existing and potential customers, recommends programs and defines actions
  • Supports customer leadership in management of BU wide strategic accounts, acquisition and negotiations
  • Reviews and assesses customer related contract commitments, Terms and Conditions of new customer agreements, understands  implications and trade-offs and provides recommendations
  • Understands the impact of long-term shifts between channels, implications of investments and ensures contingencies in place to address threats and acceleration to capture opportunities
  • Assesses Retailer Out-of-Stock analysis and recommendations in cooperation with the Customer & Commercial Leadership function
  • Reviews, assesses Customer Pricing Analysis provided by analysts and submit to HQ
  • Understands external environment, key competitors, volume/value pool share, and reviews marketing research, beverage trends to identify marketing investment and M&A opportunities through the consumer, competitive and economic landscape and provide recommendations. Supports M&A opportunity mapping process within BU
  • Analyzes Marketing Productivity performance/trends and provide recommendations for productivity opportunities.
  • Reviews and assesses promotion analysis provided by analysts ; identifies opportunities and provides recommendations

Manages collaborative partnerships with BU/Region Stakeholders:

  • Manages discussions to facilitate strategic decisions and tradeoffs across the system to assess Customer & Marketing investment and productivity opportunities by partnering with BU/Region customer function.
  • Supports BU/Region customer function in customer negotiations regarding various initiatives.
  • Identifies and leverages Customer & Marketing strategies for multi- Region investments by partnering with BU/Region Marketing.

Position Overview

  • Support the BU’s K&I’s agenda by driving best in class consumer and commercial predictive and actionable insights and recommendation based on external and internal market assessments focused on key business priorities
  • This role primarily provides the Business Unit with leading edge consumer and shopper insights, research processes and tools that facilitate decision-making against business needs. It provides in-depth understanding of market dynamics and consumer/shopper needs/wants thus aids the BU to plan better and to identify key issues and opportunities for profitable business and brand growth.
  • This involves gathering data from various sources (such as: advanced information tools, sophisticated analytical systems and methodologies and professional research service agencies) and reporting out those insights to the broader S&I team and BU for decision making
  • Leveraging scale and synergies across BU to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the K&I budget and managing suppliers on that basis is an important aspect of this job

Function Specific Activities

  • Approach: Support the BU’s Sr. K&I manager (lead) in working with the Franchise and Functional departments to develop data driven, fact based and market informed and relevant Annual and Strategic  business plans and priorities
  • Systematically apply statistical and/or logical techniques to describe and illustrate, condense and recap, and evaluate data and extract insights and recommendations that help accelerate the BU’s ability to deliver against it’s priorities:
    • Consumer Centric portfolio: Reshape growth equation to drive SSD revenue, accelerate leadership in other categories
    • Pervasive distribution: Strengthen our system to sustain and expand executional advantage

  • Ensure clear, concise and actionable communication of insights that enables business to make better, more informed decisions faster by translating data into insights into actions
  • Responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting and presenting (dash-boarding) data related to Macro-economic forces, consumer, shopper, Channel, customer, category, competiton and system:
    • Managing multiple marketing research studies and ensuring that each one is fielded and completed on time
    • Contacting and managing the marketing research agency or moderators to conduct quantitative (e.g., retail audit) and qualitative research (e.g., focus groups)
    • Manage the flow of information between the various BU/Group/Corporate departments and the agencies, reviewing research inputs (e.g., survey) for market relevance and outputs for accuracy and insights
  • Review secondary research information to help inform the business on operating landscape trends (e.g., competitors, substitutes), analyze factors that influence sales in the industry
  • Handle ad hoc research requests from the business, group and corporate e.g., target market analysis, market segmentation
