came up with at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival that trended for sometime, one has no other option but to conclude that surely, 2018 was Burna’s year.

How much do you know about Burna, OR what do you want to know about him? As a result of several questions
that have been trending, we have decided to share with you Burna Boy’s Bio. Lets get stright to meeting
Burna.

Burna Boy’s Birth & Parentage

His real names are Damini Ogulu. He was born at Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria on July 2nd, 1991. He
was born into the family of Mr/Mrs Bosede Samuel Ogulu.

Burna’s Early Life & Education

Burna spent most of his years in the UK during summer holidays and also in france, Togo, and Cote d’Ivoire at summer immersion classes.

Before finally moving to the UK, Burna picked the Patois accent which has become his signature and makes
him standout.

During his early childhood days, Burna attended Montessori International primary school, Port Harcourt from
1993 – 2002. He later moved to Corona Secondary School, Lagos 2002-2008. While at Corona, due to his love
for music, Burna Boy founded and led a high school band “Def Code” and headlined a performance at the
national stadium as one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary of Corona schools.

Burna Boy studied Media Technology at the University of Sussex from 2008 – 2009. From 2009 – 2010, he
studied Media Communications and Culture at Oxford Brooke’s University. Following that, he did a one-year
internship with Rhythm 93.7 FM Port Harcourt before signing with Aristocrat records and officially
launching his professional music career.

Burna’s Career

He has worked with several A-list Nigerian and International artists such as 2face Idibia, Sarkodie, Phyno,
Flavor, Dbanj, and Wizkid to mention a few.

Burna Boy rose to prominence in 2012 after the release of “Like To Party“, the first single off his debut
album “L.I.F.E”.

On 24 September 2012, Burna Boy released a single titled “Tonight”. In August 2013, he rekeased his first album titled Living an Impact for Eternity – LIFE

2014 saw Burna Boy split from Aristokrat records and later created his own label in 2015. In September 2016, he released a 7-Track E.P. titled Redemption with the lead single, Pree Me debuting on Noisey.

In January 2018, Burna Boy was featured on the track, “Sunshine Riptide” on Fall Out Boy’s Grammy-nominated seventh studio album, “MANIA”.

He released his third studio album, Outside, in 2018 to critical acclaim and it debuted at number three on Billboard’s Reggae Albums Chart. The album’s biggest single, “Ye”, ended up on the top of most end-of-year lists as Nigeria’s biggest song of 2018. Burna himself ended the year as Nigeria’s biggest artist of 2018.

In October 2018, Burna Boy was featured as Youtube’s Artist on The Rise.On January 3rd, 2019, he was announced alongside Mr Eazi, to be one of the artists performing on Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He won four awards at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, including “African Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for his 2018 hit single, “Ye”.

His current networth is estimated to be about $10 million
