Ashley Graham Looks Sultry In New Photos As She Sheds About 20lb
Ashley Graham, who is 5ft9in tall, reportedly used to weight around 200lbs.
But it appeared on Wednesday at a Hearst MagFront event in New York City that the model had shrunk after having lost what appears to be around at least 20lbs.
The bombshell will likely not be commenting on her weight loss, however.
According to Hollywood Life, the Vogue cover girl is ‘sick of people constantly commenting on her weight, and her body—she gets it, she’s a model, but it’s the incessant, never ending speculation over how much she weighs, or if she’s lost any weight, if she’s gained anything, that really, really bugs her.’
The source added, ‘Ashley, is just like any other regular woman in that throughout times in her life, even from month to month, her body can fluctuate.
‘She’s not some stick thin model who has to constantly watch every calorie that she consumes and obsess about keeping her weight the exact same from hour to hour.’
The lingerie model looked to have a small waistline in the curve-hugging neon yellow turtleneck dress that she paired with pointy nude heels.
The brunette wore her hair up in a high ponytail and had on flattering earth tone makeup.
The catwalk favorite also posed with Oprah’s pal Gayle King and Sade Baderinwa.
And later the Nebraska native spoke on stage with Elle Magazine Creative Director Stephen Gan.
This comes after Graham was accused by fans of losing too much weight after she attended Vogue Magazine’s Force of Fashion summit on Thursday.
After Ashley shared pictures of her look from the event, she received backlash from some fans who thought she was losing ‘too much weight’ and no longer represented them as a plus-size model.
One fan wrote: ‘You look stunning but I’m afraid that being plus sized is never going to be socially accepted when the woman who practically founded it in the first place continues to lose weight or photoshop.’
There were others in agreement who thought Ashley definitely looked ‘skinnier’ in the outfit she chose for the summit.
‘Too skinny,’ one disappointed fan wrote. ‘Don’t represent me anymore.’
While another commented: ‘You don’t look like a curvy model anymore.’
These comments are problematic for a number of reasons because they make Ashley’s beauty and career reliant on the size of her frame.
Why some fans appeared to be upset about the potential weight loss is because of the barriers Ashley has broken within the modeling industry about what figures should be seen in magazines, advertisements and on runways.
She helped show the industry exactly where plus-size women deserved to be in the fashion world, and it was right alongside all the other models.
