How To Apply For Gulu University Scholarships | Undergraduate & Masters

Gulu University (GU) is one of the nine public universities in Uganda as of September 2016.

The MasterCard Foundation has partnered with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), e. g Gulu University.

Under this partnership, 110 undergraduate and 110 masters scholarships will be provided over a period of eight years.

The scholarships target; academically deserving yet economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities and those coming from conflict and post conflict areas of Africa.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the scholarship programme, applicants must;

  • Be a native of Kenya OR Uganda to benefit from the national respective scholarship quota
  • Be a national of any African country to benefit from the Africa region scholarship quota
  • Be from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, coming from conflict and post conflict areas.
  • Be below 25 years of age for undergraduate and below 30 years for masters studies at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have completed secondary school and/or diploma for a Bachelors degree application not more than two years from the time of this call.
  • Applicant should meet admission criteria to Eligible programmes in the university of choice (Egerton University or Gulu University).
  • All admissions into masters degree programmes require a relevant undergraduate degree programme.
  • Applicant must also demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness and entrepreneurship as well as leadership qualities
  • Have commitment to working in agriculture and agricultural value chains
  • Have a strong commitment to community transformation
